ABOUT ME: I'm a designer — jewelry, handbags, apparel, sunglasses… if you can put it on your body, I can make it. I first got interested in fashion as a very shy little kid; I didn’t feel comfortable expressing myself with my voice, but fashion was a form of communication I felt inherently comfortable with. Even as my shyness disappeared, I always saw the magic in fashion as language — my fluency in that vernacular was the superpower I wanted to share with the world. Trained as an art historian first, design for me has always existed as a marriage of aesthetics and analysis, combining information and intuition, honing and harnessing your creativity to solve problems.
FOCUS AREAS & EXPERIENCE: After starting my career at Diane von Furstenberg in New York and finishing my masters in design, I partnered with a venture capitalist and launched a designer womenswear startup, where we endeavored to innovate simultaneously on the supply chain and on design, and build the world we wanted — incredible design, inclusive sizing, and an unbeatable customer experience. I led our small design team in developing the best product we could dream up, developing close relationships with our factories overseas, working with them on a daily basis to collaborate and innovate on how our products were designed, constructed, produced, and bought. For the next six years I was with Stella & Dot in San Francisco, working on and leading every category within the family of brands: apparel, jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, scarves, and home goods. I was drawn to a company that has a mission of female empowerment, and I had the amazing opportunity to act as the head designer across a wide variety of categories, as well as brainstorming and implementing strategic techniques to reach and capture the contemporary customer. In 2021 I moved to Los Angeles and joined the team at Clare V, implementing the structures and systems to take the cool brand next door to the next level, and set them up for exponential growth as they enter this exciting new phase.

CURRENT INSPIRATION: I was at a vintage market a few weeks ago and saw the chicest checker tweed dress from the 1960s. It’s haunting my mind.
